Chief learning Officer (ClO)

Dr. Barbara Logan Smith

I have always believed in the capacity of people. I believe in our brilliance, our capacities to solve problems and create beauty in our homes, communities, and organizations. I have devoted my work and life to increasing my self-efficacy and the efficacy of others. As a team member, leader, and master trainer/facilitator of adult learning experiences for more than 10,000 people (including K-12 schools, higher education, corporate, and non-profits), I have witnessed the powerful effects of positioning others to understand the influence of mindsets and behaviors and their effect on outcomes. My passion is leading experiences that enable people to recognize, celebrate, and illuminate their brilliance.

As a teacher, administrator, director, vice-president, and executive director, I have developed a multifaceted lens and a perspective on how to focus on "both and" instead of the all-too-familiar 'pendulum approach', centered on false dichotomies. This "both and" approach leads to an acceleration of important performance metrics and enhances relationships. When delivering learning experience, my expectation is to inspire, challenge, and create measurable (qualitative and quantitative) change for the participants and their organizations.
